What a neat and unique lamp to remind you of the woodsy settings you love so much!
Standing approximately 21” high, the Tall Pines Forest lamp is made from an actual dried sugar maple log collected in western New York State. Sealed with amber shellac, the log is securely mounted to a routered poplar base stained in mahogany and polyurethaned for protection (the base measures approximately 6 1/2” wide by 5 ½” deep). The golden beauty of the bark contrasts nicely with the base providing true Northwoods-style rustic character. Two hunter green carved wood pine trees are mounted to the base creating a forest look. The trees stand about 8” tall - the details on them are wonderful especially when the lamp is lit and a mellow golden glow cascades down over the base.
This lamp features a brass socket assembly with internal wiring. The socket and 2” pipe are epoxied permanently into the log. The lamp accepts 40 to 60 watt bulbs - I recommend the short clear ball type bulbs as the harp is a shortie at 6 ½”. About 6’ 8” of brown cord exits the bottom – more than most lamps to reach that far away socket. Underneath the base 4 rubbery “feet” are screwed on to protect your furnishings.
Up above the harp holds a very nice and sturdy 12” wide kraft paper shade with double laced leather strapping. The shade has a parchment style look, and when lit it casts a very nice glow on the base below. A golden polystone pinecone finial finishes off the lamp adding even more character to it!
This lamp is perfect for any rustic décor cabin or cottage theme! You might even enjoy it in the bedroom or at the office!
